Ball python scared or not scared
So 95% of the time my Ball python is in his hide when I take him out he quickly unravels and starts crawling around on my hands and arms. I can even scratch his head and lift his head up with my hand. He seems quite inquisitive and active once he is out. When I go to put him back sometimes I have to pry him off of me and other times he willingly slithers off to his hide.

    Thoughts?

Ball pythons spend most of their time hiding. That's just what they do. They aren't display snakes, that's for sure!

Second part is hard to say. From my lurking around here, some would take that as a sign of him trying to escape and get away from you. I personally don't really think snakes enjoy being handled but some tolerate it better than others. Really cool that yours isn't head shy though! Mine still are.

He sometimes curls up on my wrist too. When he slithers around its not away from me. He actually likes to go to my upper arm.

You'd know if he was truly scared of being handled. I think most BPs tolerate limited handling pretty well. If he was really scared he'd be trying to nip you and taking any opportunity to motor away and hide.

Here's a short video clip from last night of my BP enjoying being wiped down with a wet paper towel. After, I make sure to dry him off with 'his' soft regular towel. We do this generally twice a month.
