How soon after feeding should you wait to handle?
I noticed poop in my bps tub while offering him food. He ate and I need to clean the poop out but don't want to bother him cause he tends to stress out pretty easy. How long should I wait to handle him and clean his tub? Thanks

I can handle mine right after they eat. Feeding time goes like this. Bring rats home, put in room wait 15 mins while they smell them, next take water bowls out drop in rats. When they are done take snakes out put in holding tub while I clean up the news paper from blood, poo, pee, etc. Then put them back in and leave them for 48 hours to start to digest, then I can handle them.

Have you had any issues with feeding live? I have a female that's been off feed since I bought her. I only ever offered f/t but she does not seem interested. I'm kind of scared to feed live cause of the safety of my snakes. What do you do to make sure everything goes safe?

Pay attention. Stay in the room, watching the situation, with a pair of tongs or something to grab the mouse with if necessary to keep snake from harm. The mouse only stays in for a few minutes. In my experience if it has been more than 10 min snake is probably not interested. Then you remove it from the tank. A great majority of the horror pics you see of feeding issues the mouse/rat was just left in the enclosure and decided to chew on the snake.

Can I feed her a small live meal just to jump start her to start eating f/t again? I rather not feed a huge live rat to her. She is pretty big 900g so a nice size rat is what she is used to but I rather not feed that size alive. Can I feed smaller than she is used to just to get her back eating?
