    Climbing tank
    Hello all!

So we've had fluffy for about a month and a half and he's been great. He's super friendly, he takes his food almost instantly, we've been able to keep his temperatures and humidity almost perfect. But we are a little concerned with some in the tank behaviour. Some nights passed midnight he comes out of his hide and just spends 20 or so minutes climbing up and down the glass in the tank and just adventures around. Sometimes he climbs all the way up to the top of the glass then starts traveling along the top then eventually reached the end of his body and "falls" down (very slow fall)

Is this normal? I have heard ball pythons are escape artists so I'm wondering if he's just looking for a way out

    thanks!

Yeah, that's normal. He is looking for a way out though, so put something heavy on top of the tank like an encyclopedia or something. Those cage-clips they sell at pet stores are sufficient for colubrids, but a python is strong enough to push them off.

    Quite normal, actually.

Perfectly normal ... Just make sure the top is properly secured and you should have no problems.

does he have anything to climb on? branches or some sort of elevated area?

the behavior is totally normal, my BP does it all the time. He's always climbing around on top of his hides and his branch.

Mine does this too, all the time. I gave him a bunch of vines and plants midway to the top of the tank and now he seems to catch those before he falls and sometimes likes to hangout on them. I use zip ties to do that, he destroys anything else
