BP keeps striking at FT but then let's god
My BP will strike at the FT Rat, coil around it but then let's go of it. I've tried reheating it in water and it will strike again, but then let go. Now it's sitting in the tank and she seems interested and takes snaps, but doesn't quite bite down. Do I leave it in the tub? Do I take it out and reheat again? Or should I dispose and try again tomorrow?

To be honest it sounds like he isn't really hungry - I'd leave it in the tub and remove it in the morning if it is still there.

Don't try again tomorrow. Let him be for a week no handling except for cage cleanings. Try to feed on his next feed day and try and heat the head of the rat with a blow dryer after it's dethawed. Once he hits and coils walk away and check in the morning Assuming you feed a night

I agree that you should wait until the next scheduled feeding time. The "no handling" suggestion is also the way to go until the bp eats a meal. I found that room temperature thawing and then heating with a space heater or blow dryer works better for me. It seems like thawing in hot water in ziplock bags gives the rats a offensive odor. A odor some of my bp's seem to dislike. When heating the rat to offer make sure to concentrate on the head, even if you use a lamp to warm. The heat signature is really key. Good luck and I hope this helped.
