Ceramic Heat Emitter vs Infrared bulb.
Hello everyone! I have my tank set up exactly like the sticky post "How to Setup a Glass Tank (20 long) With Pictures!"
I was just wondering, could I use a Ceramic Heat Emitter instead of the infrared bulb? I have two 100w ZooMed infrared bulbs and a 100w Ceramic Heat Emitter (Only $10 on Reptile Basics, figured I should get one with my order). The constant red light of the Infrared light is somewhat annoying. What are the pros/cons of using the infrared bulb over the CHE? If I could use the CHE, would it be safe to set it directly on the metal screen top, or would that leave a chance of my ball python getting burnt??
Re: Ceramic Heat Emitter vs Infrared bulb.
Put the che on a lamp dimmer switch to adjust how hot it gets to dial in the correct temps. I personally would use the che the last longer and you wont have to look at the light. The infrared is more for your nighttime viewing pleaser
