Ball Python feeding ( swallowed a piece of bark).

Hello guys and gals, recently got a baby yellow belly male and he has been eating so well, i noticed he ate a little piece of reptibark with his meal. Just want to know if I should be concerned. some of mine get some substrate in every now and then but I do not use reptibark. jus

Ty for the quick respose, i was worried. I am looking into getting other substrates, or even mix them with the reptibark since it looks really nice. I find that the reptibark looses humidity after 2 or 3 days which is a bummer even in my tub setup.

My Boa gets lots of Aspen shavings in her mouth and she swallows them with no ill effects.

Your snake digests flesh and bone, a little wood won't be an issue. Although my Mojave had a chip lodged in her throat for about a week before it worked it's way out. She's fine now.

I've heard that depending on your location, if someone decides that the people recording were getting 'amusement' out of it, live feed videos can be construed as animal cruelty. I don't know how accurate that is, but I figure it's better to be over-cautious considering most people that don't own snakes are going to sympathize with the mouse.

If what the snake swallows seems smaller than what they generally poo, there's really no reason to worry. Bedding like that can be bad news for smaller types of snake (like garters) but is fine for a BP.
