    Brave pills all round!
My mum is not a fan of snakes. She wasn't keen on my corn snakes much, and could only handle about 30 seconds of holding the smallest one, so five minutes with my "big" royal python was some going!

Then she had a go with my baby enchi:

I was quite amazed she didn't freak out that much!

Sounds like you have got a very loving mom if she allows you to have your desires and she is not fond of them! A lot of moms will not allow snakes in the house.
Sounds like you have got a great one!!

You know my sons girlfriend is like that, she is scared of the cornsnakes but loves the ball pythons. She says the corns are too wiggly. I think the ball pythons are slower and calmer so just not as scary.

Well luckily I have my own home, so having snakes in the house isn't a problem!

I keep telling people that - the royals are better behaved (they don't normally try to go up your sleeves!)

    Congratulations to your Mum!

Sounds like the peace, grace, beauty, and tranquility got to her maybe? :)

Or the fact that her loving son basically dumped the snake into her lap! :D

This is the only reason I ever recommend balls over corns as a first snake. They are much calmer than the typical wiggly corns, and when someone is nervous anyway that can make a big difference. And congrats on getting your mom to hold them, sound as if even though she may never be a big fan of them, she is at least coming to accept them better. Way to educate, so to speak.

If I hadn't got the corns first, I would have had a ball. They just do seem to be a lot more laid back and mine, at least, are quite happpy to sit in your hand/lap for quite a long time.
