    Xenopus
My local herp society had an unusually large group of amphibians released to us for adoption to the members recently. The university decided to get rid of their collection of African clawed frogs so we ended up with about 50 Xenopus laevis to find homes for, we didn't find homes for all of them so the rest will be at the next general meeting in July. I ended up taking 4 of them home myself, they're in temporary housing right now, anyone have any interesting ideas for aquariums? http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06...20afb42320.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06...58354238cf.jpg

A heavily decorated setup with driftwoods, rocks and some sturdy plants could be cool. I don't know fish well enough to recommend anything to add some activity to the scene. Most frogs will eat whatever they can shove down their throats so I reckon a non aggressive species that's on the larger side or maybe a smaller species that's prolific enough to sustain numbers while being preyed upon. Looking forward to seeing what you do with them either way.

Whatever you do make sure they don't go to anyone that would release them into the wild. These things are terribly invasive in some areas.

I don't think they'd last too long here in MN. They were born in captivity and have been part of the University biology department for about 10-15 years, I'm not sure what they were used for if anything. They seem to be in very good health. I'd like to set up something with a log of driftwood and plants but I don't think they like a lot of agitation in their water so I'm not sure about what kind of filter to use.
