Room temps and BP hot spots?
I have a small bedroom that is set up for my ball pythons. They have heatpads under their cages, but with the room always in the 80's - 90's during the day and 70's during the night, do I even need to have the heatpads on? They're very rarely on them anyway. I'm thinking of turning them off, but thought it would be best to see what others think/do first. Thanks!
Re: Room temps and BP hot spots?
IMO, your daytime temps are ok but the nite time temps are a bit low unless the high 70's is what you mean. Idk if your heat mats are regulated with a thermostat but I would invest in one! Even though you have those daytime temps you still need a backup and you also need a steady nite temp and a thermostat would give you that. You could always tweak the temps as long as you have the stat. Depending on how many enclosures you have or plan on getting I would recommend the Herp Stat brand of thermostats. Good luck. And don't let the room temps go above 90 w/o adjusting the temperature on the thermostat.
