    Another feed question!
So, Boots is technically supposed to get large rats (by weight) but he eats live and it terrifies him. He DID attempt to take a medium, however she bit him and he released. 😧 at my store, we get lots of small rats that are REALLY tiny. So, my question is : if he's supposed to have a medium every 2 weeks, can I just switch to a small every week? He's 4ft 1726g

Definitely don't feed him a large rat especially at that weight. There's really almost no reason to feed a large rat to any BP.

You can always feed two smalls instead of one medium if that works better for you and your BP.

You can keep feeding him small rats weekly. No harm in that.

Why again do you think he technically is supposed to get large rats? If you say "because of the 10-15% rule", you're going to get an  from me.

Technically your snake is supposed to eat whatever he'll eat. Some like smaller food, some like food less often. Your own judgement and your own experience with your specific snake is going to matter far more than some rule on a website you read. Realistically, males can live on small rats. Even with feeding him small rats, he's going to go long periods without eating at times.
