    I live in New York and its a bit warm out and my air conditioning isn't great. What exactly should i set my thermostat at? this is for two males and one female ball python in sterilite containers.

    Thermostat regulating your UTH? I set mine at 90. UTH doesn't really affect ambient temperature at all.

    80 ish maybe 82 is ideal for ambient. Do you have heat pads, and are they on a thermostat of their own?

    Each setup can be a bit different. This can be from many different factors. You just need to dial it in for what you need.

    Start low and let the uth warm up. After a couple hours check the hotspot and adjust the tstat. Only make small changes and then allow the uth to again heat up all the way before adjusting again. Take your time and do it right. Its easy, it just takes time.

    yes heat pads, and two i have on the same thermostat because they are on the same pad in the exact same conditions. the third is on its own thermostat

    the hot spot should be about 82-90 right? and also, i have accurite indoor outdoor thermometers. where in the tubs should i place the prongs?

    You mean probes?

    They are usually placed on the hotspot inside the cage so you can track it.

    After some time pick up a IR temp gun. They are invaluable in this hobby. All of my thermometers have died and instead of replacing them over and over I just use my temp gun now.

    You can get them cheap on Amazon.
