Heat Mat Test FAILURE

I have never doubted this forum especially when it regards a UTH and a heat mat. I had the girls out for feeding so I figured what the heck...let's see how hot this thing gets. I plugged it in. It does not have a UTH. I was told this would be safe to run without one. Yeah...it was 120° within an hour and took an hour to cool off after I unplugged it. No thanks...

You mean it didn't have a thermostat. Yea, it's pretty crazy how hot those things get without regulation.

My zoo-med UTH unregulated ran 156F at the glass. A thermostat is manditory.
