What will i get

Hi there, sory new to all this... What will i get if i breed my normal female 2 a 66% het piebald male?

You would get a clutch of normals het pied. I am not too sure of the percentage. If you had a 100% het pied then the babies would be 50% het but since you only have a 66% het pied, the percentage would be lower (33%) <- even though no one uses this low of a het chance simply because it is so low that it is almost not worth advertising it.

Wrong. 66% het means there is a 66% chance the snake is het and a 33% chance it is normal. 66% het is one of the results of a het to het pairing. If it proves out to be het, you would get 50% het pied and 50% normals on average. If it is normal, then 100% normal.

Basically, you'll get a bunch of normals. Throw the possible het pied out the window when you're pairing it to a normal.

Nothing,unless the female ovulates and lays viable eggs, that are incubated properly,and hatch. ;)

Hmmm, I'm quite sure a het to normal can produce hets, and so are you. Unless you assume the possible het is not a het? Not an unreasonable assumption and undoubtedly this would be a poor pairing. Nonetheless, we have a newbie asking a question and now receiving 3 different answers. One completely wrong answer, one completely correct answer and one answer that makes an assumption that may or may not be correct. I stand by my post as the completely correct one.

Well no, technically not. If you have a 66% het unproven animal that your breeding to a normal the babies don't get percentages, they get labeled as "possible hets" which I have always taken to mean "probably not het". The safest assumption is that the babies will be regular ball pythons until you have proven the sire is actually carrying the pied gene. In which case you still haven't produced anything incredibly valuable, but that's neither here nor there.
