    Ball pythons in Florida.
I currently live in California. I have the opportunity to move to Florida with my boyfriend, but I am NOT leaving my ball python behind.

First of all, are they legal? He said they aren't, I've read they are, I would love an updated answer.

Secondly, do they survive well in Florida weather? (not sure what part we'll be living in, but it's worth asking.)

Lastly, how hard is it to get ahold of reptile supplies in Florida?

It's hard to believe that owning a ball python would be illegal, and owning an alligator isn't.

Balls are legal is Florida. The hobby is very popular there. You should have no issues with the climate if you have air condition.

Can I have a ball python shipped in? I would have to send her from California.

Yes, Florida is both legal and well suited for BPs. I keep a collection of balls, carpets and a few others in south Florida. 9 months of the year I just keep the windows in the snake room open 24/7 because it's python weather!! No artificial environmental controls necessary. Your snakes will love it and so will you!

I'm really contemplating it, but my family and friends live in California. My grandpa is older, and the only one of my grandparents still alive, you know how it is.

Imo it's the best state to keep them. Humid, hot, and lots of people keep them. Plenty of supplies. They are legal, he may have thought (like most) that they are the ones wild in the Everglades (which are still legal).
