    Albino snake - defective eyesight theory ..
    Most of my collection ( of 17 ) are albinos ( Royals / Kings / Garters / Corns ) and the ONE thing they all have in common is terrible coordination when striking or simply biting onto a dead mouse ... I recall reading something suggesting that Albinos had slightly defective vision ... is that possible ??

    Yeah I think it's fairly common in albino mammals - though snakes with heat pits should have fewer problems really as long as the prey is warm enough. I know I have seen several completely blind snakes posted on here that can strike and eat fine. :)
