Female or not?

I don't have plans to breed or anything, just to have them as pets, so does it make any sense for me to even buy a female BP? It would be nice to see the differences in body size as they grow up, but if I'm not going to breed, should I even bother, especially since females are always more expensive than males?

If you have no plans on breeding it really doesn't matter. It's just a matter of if you want a slightly larger snake. Who knows, maybe some day you will want to breed and having a female already will be beneficial.

I going to wait until Repticon comes to my area to make up my mind. I might see another male I can't pass up!

If you truly don't care about breeding then just find the individual snake that blows you away regardless of gender, and get it. Find that "got to have" snake who's pattern or colors you just can't do without.

If you decide to breed in the future you'll already have a great starter animal. If you don't then it won't matter, you'll already have a great one of kind pet.

I would say stick with a male then and use the savings to get a really cool multi gene snake that you'll be happy with. Raleigh show is a little over a month away perhaps I'll see you there.

I'll be going to the Charlotte or Winston Salem show. I'd like to go to Raleigh though!

Then again my brother lives in Raleigh; if I don't have to work that Saturday I might roll over there after all!

One unfortunate things about having different snakes of different sexes is the males will start to act up if they smell a female during breeding season. It's like a :cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r: going into heat.

It censored the word for a female dog....
