Something Odd, Quick Question Regarding Beardie Gender.
Good morning all! I've had my Beardie (Norbert) going on 5 years now. When I first got him I was 19, I looked at his 'parts' and was convinced he was a boy, so that was the end of it, I've only considered him a pet, never for breeding.

Over the last three or so weeks, I've noticed him acting abnormal. He wouldn't eat as much ( and I feed him everyday). He also started digging, and I mean digging, day and night, just over and over again. I thought he was just having a bit of fun, so I even gave him more bedding so he can dig some more, and he seemed to love it.

So fast track to yesterday, I get home from work, I look on his big perch where he basks and I find these:

Now, my first thought was good lord bud, those are some big urates, but when I started looking at them to clean it up, I noticed how they looked really cylindrical, and almost too perfect to be urates. When he goes his urates are never formed like that, and are often runny, not soft and shaped like that.

So I'm just curious, (maybe going crazy) what do you guys think? Do you think he might actually be a she, and she laid two eggs? I Google searched bearded dragon eggs, and came across a few pictures of eggs that kind of look like that: https://www.google.com/search?q=bear...ed=0CAYQ_AUoAQ

Maybe he was just storing up for awhile and really let it go. Ha or maybe I'm just going crazy.

They definitely look like infertile eggs to me so i would say your "he" is in fact a "she".

Haha no. That's for size comparison. That would be pretty crazy though.

So it looks like Norbert's new name is Nora.

My girlfriend says that she now needs a bow on her head to help deal with the 5 years of mistaken identity.

Yep, the digging plus those slugs mean Norbert is a Nora!

Here's a quick update for anyone still interested:

I decided to move all her substrate where she was digging the most, sure enough it didn't take long for me to feel little clumps that shouldn't have been there.

I ended up pulling a grand total of 17 eggs out of the hole she dug. So that'd 19 including the two slugs.

These guys looked good though, white and nice, if I would have gotten to them on monday wh knows, I could have had the first case of parthenogenesis with a beardie!
