    What type of thermostat?
i'm working on a new cage setup and i'm not sure which thermostat I should get to meet my needs.

i'm getting a PVC cage with flexwatt and two spots, what is going to end up working best to control my hot (flexwatt and one spot), and cold side (one spot)?

    thanks!

A Herpstat II would work well for you. One unit with two probes that can be set completely independent of each other. I have several and have never had any issues with them.

Second that for Herpstat, they are great! I have the Herpstat 4 running two racks now but it give me the ability to go up to 2 more which is nice.

You really don't need 2 probes like that for a single rack. Just a tstat that can watch the hot spot, and the cool spot will always be a few degrees less.

But I also give my vote for herpistats.

Another vote for herpstat. I have a 4 running 3 separate racks and a humidifier to keep the room humidity up in the winter.

I have both VEs and herpstats. I prefer the herpstat, since you can set temps to a tenth of a degree. If you're thinking of expanding and breeding, it might be worth the splurge for the herpstat with four probes so you could run a couple racks

    Herpstat all the way.

I had a VE-200 fail in the on position, and I lost 5 snakes in that rack because of it. It was one of the few tstats I hadn't yet upgraded to a herpstat. Now I ONLY use herpstats on my racks/enclosures.

    Herpstat 2
I went with the Herpstat 2, and it came in today and it's doing amazingly! Easy and simple setup. The temp gun and the herp are pretty darn close. Thanks for the help guys.
