    Egg sweating?
I had 5 good looking eggs laid by my cinnamon female, then one dimpled a bit after about 2 weeks in the incubator. We added some more water to the vermiculite and it re-inflated. All seemed fine. Now though, it seems like it's starting to sweat! It has about 2 weeks before the start of possible hatching, so it really shouldn't be sweating I think. This is my first clutch, so I'm not entirely sure what to do. Just in case it isn't the egg, we turned the lid of the box around just in case there was a low spot and it happened to be dripping water onto the egg. I read that if it is sweating it's usually a little sticky, but this is just like water. I'll post the picture when they were laid, when the egg was dimpled, and now when it is sweating. If anyone knows what I should do I'd really appreciate your help. -Thanks

Candle it first for viable veins.
    Good luck.

So I candled the egg, and there are definitely veins. There aren't any along the top portion where the sweating seems to be coming from.

"Sweating" eggs is a bad sign. Pull them & add dry vermiculite then place the eggs on top of that. Then repeat if more sweating occurs.

Better to error on the dry side, let the eggs dimple is completely fine, you will most likely end up with smaller hatchlings. Keeping them too moist & you will lose one by one. Don't add anymore water.

Also, keep wiping the top of your lid dry, it shouldn't have any condensation until the last week of incubation. Good luck :-)

Was referring to the excess humidity/condensation on lids in over-saturated/wet tubs, to help prevent egg loss as death will be certain if not fixed immediately, should have mentioned that...thanks for the note.

Many people, including myself completely seal egg tubs, condensation is an important part of the process, but too much condensation is really not a good thing for ball python eggs.
