    Final Steps/ Humidity
Hello all! Sorry for the many questions but you guys have been great.

Fluffy is all set up in his home and is very happy with his hiding spots. We have finally got the temperatures to where they should be. (basking spot 90 and ambient 80) But we are having issues with keeping the humidity above 50%
We have purchased a spray/ mist bottle but are concerned with getting the aspen bedding too damp (because of bacteria). We have a mesh topped terrarium so it seems the humidity isn't staying.
Has anyone run into this issue? How often should we be misting and how damp can the aspen bedding get before concern.

Here's a picture of our new guy :)

Any advice is more then welcome!
    Thank you!!

How big is that enclosure? It looks huge!
Glad your little guy feels like he's right at home.

People suggest to put foil on top of the mesh so the humidity doesn't escape as fast. I personally recommend getting measurements of the screen top, going to your local hardware store and get an acrylic peice to cover 3/4th of the mesh top. It's easily removable and you can always drill more holes if you need less humidity.

The tank is 30 gallons. It looks a lot bigger in the photo I took.

The tin foil idea is wonderful so thank you! We will also look into getting something properly fitted once we get the humidity where it needs to be.

    Thank you! :)

Tin foil is great but I find I have to change it every 8 months or so because it gets brittle. I've been looking into getting a plexiglass sheet fitted and putting holes in it. I've seen some others do that and they say it helps with humidity. If you need a quick fix to bump the humidity ever, wet sphagnum moss in Dixie cups will help. Or any little cup really.

In addition to foil, I'd also suggest covering a section of the screen with a washcloth or little towel. If the humidity is a little lower than I'd like I can soak the cloth. I prefer that to misting the bedding/enclosure itself too frequently.
