Dilemma

So i knew my snake was going in to shed but it was her feeding time so i decided to offer her some food. She probably wasnt going to take it but it was worth a try. She ate the mouse and went and hid. Later i saw she was sheeding. Its not a good shed so i dont know if i should wait the 48 hours and then soak her or just soak her the next morning.

I would wait to see if she can get it off herself. Quite often they can. I hold my snakes the next day. I feed my snakes around 9:00pm and hold them around the afternoon. Just sprat her cage and make it nice a humid for her. If she has not got the shed off herself in 24 hours, you can soak her if you wish.

Fix humidity issues?

I don't want this to sound condescending. If you knew she was in shed, you should of adjusted the humidity. I use tanks, so my humidity is not the best. The trick most older/tank users know, is creating a humid hide. It's as simple as putting damp moss in their hide. Or making a hide out of a "Rubbermaid" container filled with damp moss. There are tons of tutorials on how to do it. Me, I just add damp moss to their hide when they're in shed. And then make sure it stays moist enough till they're shed. Good luck, also I would give her at least 24 hours minimum before I started handling her.

I caught one of mine in a less than ideal shed last week, which surprised me because I haven't had humidity issues in a good while. I draped a damp paper towel over her and she was able to work it off by herself with no soaking required.

Put a humid hide in there for her. You don't have to soak her, and she can get higher humidity if she needs/wants it.
