Mouse rejecting her newborns.. any tips?

She literally just got done giving birth.. But she keeps pushing the babies away and letting them die. Is there anything I can do? I don't have a foster mother available either.

I had a first time mother do that last batch as well. I took all but 4 out. She cared for those for the most part, but they are now two full months old and barely the size of hoppers. You might be able to save some if you bring the litter down to a low number, but its possible it will turn out like my litter which has pretty much failed to thrive all the way around.

Fry them up and make little delicious poppers

I left them with her, and she seems to be nursing them. I don't know if she'll raise them, but fingers crossed!

Nothing you can do but leave her alone and hope she figures it out.

I guess there is a chance that it might happen for first timers but in rare occasions. Try observing and see what happens. Poor pinkies. But if it happens again on her 2nd time of giving birth might as well dispose her.

If she "literally" just got done giving birth how are they already dying? Most mice don't appreciate people in their nests with newborns and the stress from that may be your issue. Either she will take care of them or she won't, nothing you can do will change it so either leave them and her alone, see what happens, or take the pinks and freeze them.

Ive witnessed mice giving birth and babies were scattered everywhere but a couple of hours later i checked them again and they were all together and nursing. I agree its not good to watch the mother giving birth bec. it will just stress her out and will end up eating the pinkies which you dont want to happen
