5 month fast - Habits related to a lack of eating
    Hey,

So my bp Roxy hasn't eaten since December 5th, i have tried both frozen and live. Her hot side is between 87-89 and cool side 75-77 (but varies up to 79 on the cold side). Anywho, i just wanted to say some of the things i've noticed to see if that is regular and if maybe there were some suggestions on how i could get her to feed again. she has lost 120g since December (I'm not sure if thats good or bad relative to 5months). Things i've noticed are that she has spent a lot of time on the cold side. I tried taking it out and that forced her in the other one but she will spend time looking for it so i put it back in not wanting to stress her out. To that I would ask, do you think i should take it out for awhile as i hear heating them up makes them want to eat more. Next, with the rats she will go up to them and then kinda back away fearfully. She let them climb on her (well more so touch her and sniff her) and she just doesn't care. She will just go around the feeding area looking for her hide or trying to get out type thing. Just no interest in the rat at all. I have been trying to mix up the length of time between feedings as well and that hasn't worked either.

So i was just curious if her weight loss seems normal or unhealthy for 5 months? If there are any tips or suggestions as to what i could/should do to get her eating again or if i should just leave it as is that would be much appreciated. As for the cold side hide should i just leave it in or take it out?

How big of rats are you feeding? Also forcing her to the hot or cold side is not going to work. They know what temps they need if you try to take that from them you will just stress them out.

Ok good, I only took the hide out for a couple of hours for a day but since its always been in there. I just find she never seems to be on the hot side and i wasn't sure if thats a bad sign. I feed her about 130g rats (i try to follow the 10% rule)

Are you positive the hot side isnt to hot, gotta be a reason she refuses to use that side of the tank

I consistsntly check it with a heat gun and it is always between 87-89 (90 max). Should I try switching the hides themselves

Sounds like normal ball behavior to me. She has not ate so doesn't need to be on the hotspot other then to regulate her temp. Breeding size females will use the cool end quite a bit. I would try smaller food and offer only once a week. Does she have a light on all the time or does she have some dark time?

She has a light on during the day but I turn it off at nice. I try to stick to the sun schedule but sometimes I go over and under of course.
