Burn, scale rot or what?

Hello everyone.
when I got my BP a few months ago I noticed this on his belly. At the time I didn't have much experience with this animals so I didn't worry too much but then after getting more familiar with them I worried a little.

The last owner told me it might be a burn so Ali made some changes in the temperature and I increased the humidity. Since then he has shed 2 times and now it looks much better. I do not have pictures of how it's looking now but I will upload some soon.

I applied a bit of Vaseline a few times when I noticed the issue but blow since he is much better I honestly forgot about it.

Pretty much all I wanna know is what this is?

Hopefully you guys can help.

First picture shows when I just noticed the issue. And second is after I adjusted temperature, humidity and applied Vaseline on it for a few days.

Whether it's a burn or scale rot vaseline won't help, petroleum products soften scales and cause them to slough off eventually. You can use neosporin once or twice, silvadene is best, Vetericyn (from Petco) is good.

Treatment for both is basically the same:
- Daily soak for a few minutes in a lukewarm bath of weak betadine,
- Apply Vetericyn or silvadene to the affected area,
- Keep enclosure scrupulously clean, any natural substrate like aspen, cypress, coco husk, etc. should be replaced with newspaper or paper towels.

Also, if you have an unregulated heat source then it needs to be turned off until you get a thermostat for it.

Thanks bcr229. The pictures are about 2 months old. I did have him baths and fully clean his enclosure like 2 times at week. After the 2 sheds he had in the past 2 months the "infection" is virtually gone. He is much better now and I will be uploading a picture tonight. I was wondering if any of you guys know what kind of infection is, or even what is it?
