Smallest self sustaining enclosure
Been prepping for Ackies, and it hit me that maybe my salamanders vivarium could be made bioactive/self sustaining as well. Would a 20 gal long be big enough for the cage to clean itself? Only maintenance I would do is feed and spray and maybe spot clean if the springtails/Isopods/ bacteria was not taking care of it too fast at first. And of course change water.

Out self sustaining vivariums are all 18x18x24 so I'm sure it will be big enough you'll still have to rid of the big poop but for the most part everything will take care of its self

Just curious. What isopods are you using? We have some really cool zebra isopods in out new viv

As of now, I have none but I have a place where I plan to order normals. Zebras sound cool so I may look into that

We've got a bumble bee milipede and about 6 or so zebra pill bugs
