Feeding in shed advice

My young male BP is deep in the shedding cycle, his eye's cleared up yesterday from blue so he's due anyday to shed. Tonight is feeding night and I'm wondering if I should just skip his feeding tonight so I don't upset his cycle. Another option is in the bag of fuzzy rats I picked up at reptile show is a very small fuzzy I kind of didn't know what to do with. What about maybe trying to offer him this as maybe a small snack might not throw a monkey wrench into things so much.

Many will eat without issue during their shed cycle. Some will not.

Offering won't hurt, but neither will skipping.

I skip simply because it's easier for me and a skipped meal here and there doesn't hurt them. I don't have to worry about if they will or won't eat...they won't eat because they weren't fed.

But it's up to you. You'll need to figure out what makes sense for you and your snake.

Thank you, may not be an issue. I went home at lunch and checked on him and he was in his warm side hide rubbing around like he's going to shed now. He hasn't been in that hide since he started the cycle. I'd bet money when I get home tonight he'll be shed out then I'll just go ahead and feed as normal.

You can give it a shot or not, some will eat and some wont. No way to tell until you try it. Some of mine will, some won't, and some are hit or miss. So I finally just gave up and I now skip the attempt if I see they are in shed. As was said, a missed meal won't hurt, and do what works for you and your snake.

I just wait until they are done but doesn't hurt to try

Mine has never refused food during shed. Some do. I usually don't skip because it's a pretty good bet that mine will eat.

As I suspected came home from work to what appears to be a nice one piece shed and a great big stinky dump. The shed was rolled up like a condum but I think it good solid one piece. He's in his other hide and don't want to mess with him now but will check him out good when I feed him later. Thanks everybody !!

Fresh paint and a full belly. Wondered how he would eat after just shedding yesterday and before I could even get the lid off he was coming out of his hide and ready to eat.

Well maybe, it seems the big thing I'm learning with these guys is about the time you think you have them figured out they throw a curveball on you. Very relieved to get through that first shed and have it go well. Not sure why as my daughters corn snake has shed a bunch of times with us, I guess reading of stuck sheds,retained eye caps and what not on here makes me nervous. Thanks all for the advice!!
