This is going to sound gross, but put a bowl of sugar and vinegar NEXT TO, not in his tank. The sugar will attract the ants and the vinegar will kill them.

You'll have to replace the mixture every 2 days.

Around the outside bottom of the tank?. The vinegar smell wont bother or confuse him right? Lol

Put it in a bowl, the vinegar smell will be masked by the sugar, and vice versa. Even if not, he won't notice the smell. Remove the mixture the day before feeding.

Ohh ok gotcha thanks. I actually just took him out for feeding, and took out about a quater inch from all the top cypress mulch and soaked all the accessories and cleaned the bottom and top border of the tank with disinfectant spray on a paper towel to wipe the ants trail. Now im just letting everything air out hopefully it last a day or to til i figuer out how to get rid of all the ants in the room.

Well, if you use the sugar and vinegar trick in your room, and outside your house, spray with raid. The spray won't make it into your room, and any ants in the house will be eventually caught with the sugar and vinegar.

These work. I see sugar ants every spring, this year I also have the huge carpenter ants. I put the Terro out on Saturday, today the number of ants is drastically reduced and I expect by the end of the week they'll all be gone.
