Frozen feeders...ordering VS local and the best places to get them...
You would think more places in S. Fla. would sell frozen rodents...I mean, a LOT of people own snakes! I have 3 places in town that sell frozen, two of which sell live. All are big name pet stores; Pet Supermarket, Petco, and PetSmart. I work at Petco and get a decent discount off of regular purchases, so I usually buy them there. They use Gourmet Rodent. Lately, they've been weirding me out a bit...they're not very neatly packaged; when I open the bags(I usually buy several 3-packs) the rats always look mangled and weird...not neatly tucked in the bag. PetSmart won't sell me live(which Boots will only ever eat) and their frozen feeders are $12 for 2 rats! I could get more than double that for less elsewhere. Pet Supermarket sells both and their live prices are decent(starts at $2.50 for mice and $2.99 for small rats) but only sell frozen in huge bulk bags that cost upwards of $100... I wanted to try ordering online for my roommate and myself, but there's a lot of confusion and choices to make. There IS a shop that sells feeders(frozen and live) for awesome prices starting at $0.50 per mouse, but it's a 2 hour drive!! Do you think it's worth it to order online for 6 snakes when split between parties? Or should I stick to buying in-store even though it's not preferred? Opinions? Suggestions? Thanks!

Ugh back when I had one snake, I used gourmet rodents... So nasty.
I buy bulk from big cheese rodents.. Way way way way cheaper than paying an upwards of $4 per rat locally... And it adds up when you have six snakes. I always order enough for 30 weeks..
But do the math... I'm saving probably $400 (if not more) for 30 weeks just for 6 snakes.

I've used South Florida Rodents. He ships in styrofoam with dry ice. If you're local, FedEx will deliver it the next day. Or if you feel like driving to Southwest Ranches, you can pick up in person. His hours are usually after 4pm or so.

In Florida you can try South Florida Rodents:

I've ordered from them multiple times and was happy with them. Rats, mice and chicks, all were fine.
I've been looking into them

Big cheese rodents has decent prices, not bad shipping, and incredibly clean. I'd be like paying almost 4$ Per snake minimum, if I bought from petco.
Thanks! I wanted to pick up at shows but that seemed pricy as well

I love their prices but shipping man.. kills me

Ya it's only worth it if you're gonna order a lot. So far they have the cheapest shipping too if you're gonna order online.

Maybe find someone in your area that orders from them and split it with them?
