    Will tubs melt?
I've been pricing things for Ackies and decided to check on tubs even though I had planned on a trough. I found a huge sterilite that was 4x20x20 at Walmart, but I'm afraid that it may melt with an Ackies heating requirements. Can anyone justify this or will it be fine?

Don't aim the lamp at the plastic.

I doubt it will hurt it at all. The common melting point of most plastics is 200-250 degrees f, and a proper ackie basking spot should be between 120 and 150 degrees f. And even then, you could always silicon a tile or plate rock background onto the spots that will be hot.
