    Fat BP?
I have a two foot (I think, definitely longer then a single foot) 783g pie bald female. She is 11 months old. I was told that if I was planning on breeding her to feed her once every 5 days (which i do plan on breeding her when she is big enough). I did not exactly ask when to stop feeding her every 5 days and move her to once a week. I have not bred anything yet and probably wont till next year, but anyway, this stuff is still new to me. She looks fat, very fat. But I know ball pythons are supposed to be bulky and most of my females are, but she is just really big. I have no clue if she is over weight or not. I started feeding her once a week about two weeks ago, but I was wondering if you guys new how to tell when a BP is over weight and if I should move her to once a week or keep her on a five day schedule?

Typically when they reach the 500 gram range, once a week is plenty. They'll even skip the occasional meal at that rate, which is perfectly normal.

I switch to once a week once they are eating small rats.

She is a super eater. She knows when it is feeding day and if I am not careful, she will attack me before I have have the rat ready. She is my only ball python that will eat when she is shedding and she has not skipped a meal for me yet but she is still young.

I have a female like that. On 5/8/2013 when I got her, she weighed 160 grams. She didn't skip a single meal during her first year in my care and on 5/16/14 she weighed in at 2065 grams. She's now at 2671 grams and in her first breeding season. ;)

Wow, that is a big girl. I have a vanilla who is two years old and 859g, that is one of the reasons I was worried that my pied is little over weight, but I also just got this vanilla a month ago and she is skinny, back bone and all is protruding so I know she is under weight.
