Question on the Ghost gene
I recently purchased a new male ball python. I bought it as a pastel banana. I got a very good deal on a stunning animal. the father banana was bred a het ghost female pastel and surprised breeder with several ghost babies. the male I purchased looks far lighter and cleaner than the other pastel bananas and the difference is instantly noticeable. It very much looks like it has the ghost gene. Is there any way to tell weather it is ghost or a case of het ghost being visual(which I have heard of but unsure of the legitimacy). I also was told if the sheds have no pattern on them then it is a full ghost not het(again unsure of the truth). That said, the sheds have no pattern at all on them. totally uniformly clear-ish. Any knowledge/info is appreciated.

It has few, dull speckles. I just put couple pictures up. here's the link. http://ball-pythons.net/gallery//sho...mageuser=26431

That's a ghost, you can tell by the dull specks. I kept a ghost banana spider, I should have made that clear. The spider ghost banana only has a few specks so far.

Well hopefully you are wrong lol. :) I appreciate your input and expertise. Compared to its siblings there was a huge difference. I am planning on picking up a pair of proven het ghost normal females and finding out that way. Worst case is pastels and bananas so not would be lost :gj:

I've seen het ghost stuff look faded and he has a 50% chance of being het ghost so you may get lucky. You should get ghost females rather than hets so worst case scenario all the babies will be het ghost instead of poss. hets.
