Sneeze/Cough/Wierd action?

We were just woken up by what sounded like sneezing, only to look over and see our spider ball doing something I'd never seen before. He'd open his mouth really wide and then his whole body would sort of contract and lurch forwards and he's make a sort of spluttering cough sound. He did it a few times in a row, not long enough for me to get a video unfortunately.

Anybody here have experience of/seen this sort of thing? Do snakes sneeze and cough? Will be checking him over for signs of an RI.
