Which is more preferable?

I have a ceramic heat lamp for the nights which hold the humidity perfectly, and heat as well. I want to switch the day bulb. I was looking into the zilla blue and red bulbs. Which one is better to use as a day heat bulb?

Ball python don't actually require any special daylight spectrum lighting, some feel that it actually stresses the snake ( I don't know what credit that statement has, but bp are nocturnal animals) so in all honesty getting a white or blue light is just wasting money unless it's just a personal preference for you or the plants in the vivarium. Red light however is said that they cannot see, so an infrared light would be safe 24/7. (This is what I prefer to use, but opinions will vary)

Snakes do not require bulbs at all, I did used to use a red bulb at night during winter though but heat pads work best for snakes. You can use a bulb if you want. Red bulbs are better IMO, but the blue wont hurt them either.

They put out the heat needed for the BP as well right?

I use zoomed red bulbs 24/7. Not a problem. If that helps.

Also if the ceramic lamp is holding temps and humidity and you are only wanting to use a daybulb, for actual light purposes you could run the CHE 24/7 and just use an LED strip to create some ambient light during the day. Won't put off any additional heat.

Ohh ok. I wouldnt have to switch from the red bulb to like a ceramic since they cant see it much right?

I would just stick with the che unless you meed more light in the cage for your viewing pleasure, they wont dry out the air as bad and they last so much longer then the heat emitting light bulbs.
