Starting a science project

So I was at the Dallas repticon and I was talking to one of the vendors who was selling feeders and Miltos Reptile blend and he said that you could use the substrate as a mulch for your garden. So I started a little compost pile with all of our snakes bedding from last month. Idk why we had it. and I put in a flower bed with nothing in it. We shall see what happens

Cypress mulch can be bought from a hardware store. Usually used in decorative flower beds or to decorate the base of a tree. This cypress mulch is usually mixed with other things like pine, cedar and can be dyed any color. Cypress mulch from the pet store is not dyed and is only cypress, not mixed. So yes, it can be used in a flower bed.

I've been throwing my used cypress onto my veggie garden for the last two years now whenever I do a full enclosure clean-out. That stuff is way too expensive to just throw away if I can find another use for it.

I personally do not use it in my gardens. I grow veggies though and do not really want to use pre snake used cypress to grow my food.
