how much should I worry?? new baby
Okay Ive had bps given to me in the past that were non eaters and got them eating. However this new baby is very thin and his underside is rather pushed in. I was going to wait a week to try and feed but decided to give it a go today and he struck, wrapped and ignored it.
So I will be worried until he eats, but how worried should I be? He appears healthy other then the eating issues.
Ive put him in a small tub, humid hide, water dish, warm hide.
I also got a brazilian that is rather thin from the same people, stuck shed on face along with eye caps.Ive got her in a tub as well with a humid hide etc. Not as worried about her as they said she was eating fine but were only feeding her fuzzy mice so thats probably why she is thin.

He is about 70 grams, my scale is a bit screwy. he looks dehydrated to me. That is an index card holder for size reference.
Sometimes they eat on the first day, sometimes they don't. The fact that he struck is good, he may have just been a bit stressed which is why he didn't finish the job and eat.
I'd just make sure his enclosure is okay (good temps, good humidity, enough hides, etc). If it's okay, just put him in his enclosure, leave him for 7 days, and try again then.

Agreed with 200xth, he's thin and a bit dehydrated but give him a week to settle in. Imo, make sure he has fresh water and a bowl to soak in and in due time he will eat for you. Peace.:salute:

No. Most of the time, soaking them just stresses them for no reason.

The wrinkles actually look like he is about to shed - dehydration wrinkles run from head to tail along the body rather than from top to bottom.
I'd get the humidity up to about 70% and give him a few days.
