    Timer with double dome?
We have a double dome for one snake and I will probably get more for the others. My question is, can I set these up to work with a timer so that the daylight comes on at one point and the nightlight comes on only at night, or do the doubled fixtures not work with a timer?

    1.1 Red-tail
    0.1 Albino corn

If they have two separate cords you should be able to work them on a timer. Otherwise I don't know for sure, but I would say not.

I have a Zoo Med Mini Combo Deep Dome and each lamp fixture has its own cord and operates independently.
You'll need both a timer and a dimmer for each lamp since the power cords only have On/Off switch.

You could leave the red lamp on all the time and just put the daylight (white) bulb on timer. But you'll still need separate dimmer for each bulb.

Why do I need a dimmer? o.o I've never heard that.

Does your double dome have one or two cords to plug into the wall?

It's just 2 lamps in one fixture, you can use a 2 channel timer to program both, or 2 individual timers. Still have to adjust temps by bulb wattage unless you wire in dimmers, or my solution, a channel from your thermostat to a heat emitter to regulate air temps, and a low wattage or LED day bulb on a timer for day/night cycle, gotta watch though heat emitters in small dual fixtures can get hot enough to melt some LED/CFL bulbs .

You are only using the dome for lighting only and not as a heat source. There are two plugs so you can put each one on a timer to cycle day and night.
You will either need two timmers or one that has multiple plugs for day and night.

Well one bulb is a day bulb and one is a red heat lamp For night...I just learned recently you have to cycle them. If my snakes are in the sunlight every day, do I still need to leave a day lamp on?
