Ecuadorian black belly boa

I searched online for a while looking for a picture that matched up with the boa that a buddy of mine has possibly up for sale. They say it's a red tail but it is like no other red tail I've ever seen. It looks to me like it is a Ecuadorian black belly..
Does anyone here know anything about them, I'm considering giving this one a new home with me due to the serious lack of care he is receiving but I want know as much as possible before I do. I'll try to get pics up asap. The snake is roughly 5' 6" give or take maybe a little longer very dark coloring with a dark red tail area and it has more of an iridescent color to it than any other red tail I've seen. Very unique looking snake and it's possibly pregnant? Not sure. Please help if anyone can.

Without pictures, no way to know. Well from reading on them, it seems most people are saying they are just a local species of BCC so I would assume it would be the same kind of care. Does your buddy have any info? I mean if he bought it from a pet shop, it is a "boa". That is about as much you will probably ever know as there is no knowing how many crosses have been bred into it or if it is a cross between a BCC and BCI or anything really. The problem is boas have a lot of variation even within the same species so like I said, unless you can get a hold of the breeder and he has records, its basically a "pet boa". If you like him, go for it. I mean if you are planning on breeding, then I would say most definitely skip on it and buy from a breeder that you can guarantee the genetics but if it is just a pet, go for it. My 6' BCI girl is just a pet boa and I love her to death. She is a giant scaly puppy dog but I knew going in I was never going to breed her and she was just a pet. Now my sunglow, I do know her genetics so if I was going to breed I would breed her but I don't plan to as there can be lots of complications that go with it and I would be beside myself if something happened.

He got her from a breeder on Craigslist and has zero information, the previous owner stated that he had no idea what it was other than it was a red tail. So I'm dealing with people who just didn't take the time to know what they were getting into. The snake appears to be pregnant but I'm not sure as all of my experience is with ball pythons.
The only reason I'm interested other than the sheer beauty of the animal is that it is so poorly cared for. I got there today and it has a turtle's water dish and it is bone dry, she has zero heat source and is in a tank so narrow she can't turn herself around in it.

I would take that snake regardless, even if just to give it a better temporary home... Thats no way for a snake to be living, that buddy of mine would be getting an ear full about that situation

Oh he got an ear full, I brought him an under tank heater at least to have heat and had him get a decent size water dish in with what i had left in substrate Until I can make space to pick him up. My bp's are already hogging up the real estate atm. If I get the vision rack I want this week I'll be good to go
