Black eyed leucy question
Hi guys! :-)
I have a question. I'm new to the forum--but not snakes. My very first snake was a ball when I was in high school. I've been doing burms and retics but due to some pretty bad back injuries, I can't do the big guys anymore, so I decided to come back to my first love, the balls. :-)
Anyway, my question is about the Black Eyed leucy's. In retics, the leucys are death traps. Genetics not strong and they all die after a couple years. Ball leucys are older and have been bred for a longer time. I'm curious if they are stronger, then? The black eyed leucy has been a dream snake since I first saw them and Bob has a couple for sale. I want to be sure I'm not going to get an animal that will die a couple years into it due to a weak strain.
Any help is appreciated. :-)
Thanks so much. :-)
Robert
Re: Black eyed leucy question
Never heard of issues with black eye (super fire). Blue eyes are more likely to have bug eyes pop up now and then, but they still live long lives. There are some other lethal/weak combos that come out all white or nearly so (super champ and pearl for example) but those combos are avoided by the majority so you almost never see them.
