    Humidity problems again
Just switched from aspen to repti bark because they had dry sheds despite that my acurites read at 55% humidity. The acurites are working as far as I know. I did the salt test. Ok so it's been two hours since I set up their repti bark and now the humidity is at 99%?! It doesn't feel all that humid, like I would guess it to be about 60%. There are plenty of holes in my tubs and my hygrometer is off by 2 degrees according to the salt test. I'm thinking that I've been getting weird readings because the hygrometer part is on the bottom, which would be the most humid part. It would be like trying to measure the surface of a steak when you've pushed the thermometer into the middle. Does that make sense? and what kind of hygrometer that I can stick to the middle of the tub side do you guys recommend?

Most likely the bark was very damp when it was packaged. You will most likely wake up with condensation on the sides of the viv. It happens to me when I change my substrate. Normal stuff.

It was dampish when unpacked. but cant they develop an RI in that amount of time?
Also my pastel could care less about the change but my pinstripe is very active and exploring it :D

I doubt it no, if you have a che or lamp in there it will heat it up in no time!

I wouldn't really worry about RI but I would be careful using damp substrate 24/7 with no dry spot the snake can get to as that can promote scale rot which would be bad. Be careful feeding on reptibark as well since I have read people that have had their snakes grab a rat off it and get a piece of that stuck on a tooth. The snake needed owner intervention to get the piece of bark out of its mouth and I would be worried about the snake eating a piece if it is a smaller snake as something like a big chunk of bark isn't going to digest or pass as easy as a few shavings of aspen. I personally use aspen and all of my snakes have eaten some here and there and they are fine. never used reptibark.
