    Orange Ghost question
I first thought that my recent pick up was a ghost Mojave but I spoke with the breeder and he told me that its a orange ghost Mojave as he only works with orange ghost in his program. What is the difference I know that Ghost takes all of the black out but what does the orange ghost gene do? And would orange ghost cross with regular ghost. I have been looking at 2-3 gene females with ghost not orange ghost as a mate for him. I have not bought anything yet but I am glad I made the call and got some clarity on exactly what I got. I was kind of swept up in the moment when I picked him up.

Ok so they are the same? because when I plug it into the genetic wizard the babys are coming up het for both ghost and orange ghost like they are two different genes

There are several "ghosts" out there but OG is the most common.

Cool I just wanted to make sure that they are genetically compatible and would still have the ghost trait if breed together. I thought that they would reduce different colors or something possibly. Thanks for the clarification

Most lines of Ghost or Hypo are compatible. There are a few that are not. So you still want to be careful. Orange Ghost is compatible with most of the other lines, so you have a good starting point. The different color names of the Hypo gene refer to the "wash" that it has. Orange Ghost has an Orange wash while Green Ghost has a green wash, ect.

Thanks, I was unsure about this as well. I have several OG's and het OG's and I was unsure if they would be compatible with a hypo or just a ghost.

But what will happen if you breed an orange ghost to a regular ghost? Will they have somewhat of an orange wash but not as much as a true OG? Or does it work some other way?
I have the opportunity to get a male ghost to put to two female lessers het OG but I'm not sure if its frowned upon or reduces quality if you mix ghost lines? Or does it not really matter?
