    terrarium help and advice please!
    i hope i'm posting this in the right place;;

    hey so i'm new on here and i'm pretty new to owning ball pythons, right now i have my little guy in a simple tub setup and he's doing great :)

    in the future when he gets bigger i really want to move him into something more fancy and aesthetically pleasing. that's why i really want some help and advice because i don't want a setup that's pleasing for the eye but not good for the snake!

    the terrarium i'm looking at right now is the Natural Terrarium Large/Low

    90 x 45 x 30 cm / 36” x 18” x 12” (WxDxH)
    from exo terra (link)

    now my question is would this be okay if i did the foil treatment?
    i would be heating it with a heat pad in one end and no lamp, iv'e read mixed opinions on them so i would rather not use one + this terrarium is pretty low so don't you think a heat pad would do the trick? my room is pretty warm most of the time, especially in the summer and if the ambient air temp was to drop in the winter even with the heating on i have some heat cable i could fix to the side or behind the terrarium background :)

    sorry for rambling on so much i just want some help/advice so i know what to do in the future when he out grows the tub he's in now!

    If you can I would save some money up and buy a Animal Plastics T8 or T10 instead of a terrarium. We have our normal girl set up in a 48 x 24 x 18 terrarium and it's terrible as far as keeping up humidity; constantly having to mist the tank. Top is covered except for air/heat lamp; two moss bowls in the tank and its still low humidity.She's going to be moving to a Animal Plastics enclosure this summer :):)

    Why not just an all wooden, front glass screen vivarium? No messing around with foil or mesh tops then.

    i did look into them and even making my own since i can make the floor thinner making it easier to heat, but i'm scared that i will end up using some type of wood that will harm him

    Like what? There are ones specially made for reptiles. I'm not sure of any that would hurt a ball python.
