    Our first clutch!
Our first clutch is being laid as we speak. So far the count looks like 6 perfect eggs with one boob egg. We want to try maternal incubation with them, but I have an incubator running just in case there is something wrong. I'm so excited. This is our first clutch ever. Bought the snakes about three years ago, and have been waiting for them to grow up enough to breed. Pairing is normal to Mojave. I don't believe this is actually happening, and my poor snake looks so deflated now.

So thoughts on the boob egg. It is in the middle of the eggs. Should I leave it there, or should I pull it?

Oh lord, tell me about it. I've already checked on her like 10 times in the past 2 hours. 7 eggs, not bad for a first time breeder. Poor girl must feel better now.

Definitely leave the boob egg. Ive had two hatch out with perfect snakes in them just a bit smaller than the siblings.

Im not a fan of maternal incubation though. I feel like it puts long stress on the mother. I prefer controlling the process and getting her back on food asap.

I feel so paranoid already. One egg rolled out of her pile. I put it back, and she wouldn't curl around it. So I ended up pulling the eggs, because I'm a worry wart like that. Candled them. 6 with good veins. The boob egg did not have veins that I could see. Going to give it a few days to a week, and see if anything develops.

Gah!! This is going to be the longest two months of my life. And I have another girl that is due in 3 weeks. She is a "who's your daddy" clutch, normal girl that locked with both our cinnamon and our Mojave.

I wouldnt be surprised if the roll out doesnt make it. Mother usually knows best but not always. Good luck.

The rolled egg had good veins, so it still may make it. It wasn't attached like the others were, so it could have rolled out for a number of reasons. And me checking every 5 minutes probably didn't help. *sighs* I really need to quit worrying about this.
