Pool in tank?

I know BP's don't usually soak much but I am looking at putting like a pool type thing in her tank, it would be some sort of shallow plastic container she could fully soak in if she wanted.. Does anyone have something like this or any ideas on best approach? She is currently in a 29 gallon tank.. How much floor space would it take up in that tank? Was just thinking if she wanted to get away from the heat, and there might only be the 'pool' for to get to if it takes up too much room on the cold side. I don't see the point, I don't think they naturally soak, and they may like it, but I doubt they will miss it.

Not sure I'd try that in a tank that size. Like George said, there may be no other place for the snake to go to thermoregulate if you take up much floorspace with something like that. In a larger tank I don't see the problem with a larger water dish/pool. Something to think about for the next cage upgrade.

Have you even checked to see if your snake likes water? My large BCI and my BP both hate water other than to drink. My baby sunglow BCI enjoyed soaking when she shed. Each snake is going to be different but as others have said, generally BPs aren't really "soakers".

I've done it in larger tanks like 40-breeders, using a 9x13 pyrex baking dish as a soaking tub.

She likes to be in the bath tub with water and I find her soaking once in a while, we are looking for a bigger tank right now I am thinking a 40 would be a good size and the pool would only be like 5x5" or so.. I have a friend who has a 75 gallon tank but I think that may be to big

Yeah, doing it in a big enough tank so he has room to regulate temps, it will be quite cool in my opinion :)

I think it is a good idea that's why I was asking opinions from people, she eats great, 280 grams and is eating small rats that are about 40 grams each, we are trying to get her a bigger tank as she is growing fast and needing more space

Your tank would need to be pretty good size, especially if you want it to remain with a pool as an adult. Just looking forward on this.... A soak for a full grown BP would not be small. Lookin at a pretty huge tank to balance all that with 2 appropriately sized hides and stuff.

Also it would be removable? For cleaning yes? And separate drinking water or no? Cause when they soak sometimes they do their business in there, which would make water unsafe for consumption. You would have to clean it ALOT if snake used it.

No negativity, mind you. Just brainstorming :P

Yeah it would be like a tray sorta thing I can take out and clean as needed and she would have a separate water bowl, the tank we are looking at now is a 75 gallon, the pool will only be 5x5" or so.. And eventually when needed we will be getting a rather large tank
