Reptariums

Is a reptarium okay to use as a cage for a ball python I ve been looking at them and they look nice and have many different features that I think are helpful. Any other help would be greatly appreciated :D

Is a reptarium made of mesh ?? If it is i would say No becuase of humidity reasons and it would be hard to control the temp's.....which is basicly the most important thing.

Is there a link you could post of the reptarium in question? If it is indeed made of screen it would definately give you humidity issues - it's hard to have good humidity levels even in a glass tank with screen lid. :)

I went to google and typed in reptariums in the image section, they are made of mesh. I would not use one. I would either go for a rubbermaid or glass tank.

they dont hold humidity at all very well! iremember when iwas plannen on gettin one for mine becuz big size+low price=good deal but i read up on it and discovered bad idea!

I never did, i dont think ill ever go back to using "natural" types of substrate.......i dunno maybe im just wierd but i think that it would be so uncomfortable to be sitting in that stuff all the time, yeah in the wild they are on it all the time but this isnt the wild and so i think they shouldent have to be laying in dirt and bark and all that stuff all the time when they could be sitting on nice soft,clean newspaper or papertowel, plus newspaper is just soooo much easier.

Reptariums are really not he ebst caging for ball pythons, and I would not recommend them. I debated on getting one for a BP in the past, but they are too open-aired which would make temperature impossible to maintain. Not to mention humidity. They do sell plastic thingies that cover the whole reptarium and are designed to trap in moisture, but it would be a lot more expensive than just buying a good sized rubbermaid or even an aquarium.
