Escape

Well, the other night my cat must have been laying on top of the screen lid on top of my new ball's enclosure. When I woke up the screen had caved in and the snake was gone. I looked everywhere the day it happened. Yesterday was feeding day, so I took out a frozen mouse and laid it on an extra UTH and put it under a hide on the floor, didn't work. I've looked everywhere I can think of. I've checked everywhere dark, cramped, warm, everywhere. So if anyone has any tips for find/luring out a ball, anything would be appreciated.

try searching at night with the lights off. Use a flashlight. Check every crevice, and seam. Look for loose baseboards. Check in the toes of shoes you don't wear often. If it looks too small for your python to be in, check it. The snake was scared by the cat and is hiding. If it comes out, it will be at night.

Your on the right track with cramped warm places. Power cords and outlets produce heat they love.like an entertainment center or tv. Might sound silly but lay down on your stomach and see what they can see from their prospective, like holes in things along the floor you can't see while standing. I've heard to sent the room leave out a hide. There are just so many places it's imposible to say. I've even heard the top shelf of a closet, how did it get there? Climb in a jacket? When my snake decided to go on walk about she was already too big to hide her whole body and couldn't fit under thing like doors or dressers so it wasn't easy For her to hide long

Would turning the heat in the basement (where he is) off and leaving a UTH with a F/T mouse on top with a hide covering it be a bad idea?

I wouldn't turn the heat off. And be prepared for the stink of a mouse left on a UTH all night. :P

If it draws him out, I'd be perfectly fine with the smell. Haha

I know you can throw flour down on any hard surface like tile or stone (what's sweeping if you find your snake?) and to check every possible or impossible crevice, dark places, warm places. Be careful the UTH isn't hot enough to burn snake though! And heck. If I had the heating units I would provide heat in every reachable room.
