Labeling tubs / racks

Currently I have 26 bp's and I use sticky labels on each tub that label if it's male or female and what morph it is. Every time I wash I have to remove the sticky label and I'm going through them like crazy.

What method do you all use for labeling your snakes? I have a note book I use for records such as feed, shed, and weight. So I just need an effective way of labeling. I've seen note cards used, but how are they attached, and where to?

Tape it to the outside of the box. Can pick up tape for dirt cheap.

I use badge holders which you can found at walmart , the advantage is that when I move a male I also move it's tag to the female's tub. Other advantage you can fully clean tubs in and out without worrying about tape.

This only contains their ID on one side and QR code on the other (QR code is used with Reptile Scan and allows me to see all the info for the snake in question)

Now for hatchlings that I have for sale I use wide painter tape for the ID and have a 4 x 6 card with feeding under the tub.

I use electrical tape. Stands up to a lot. I also have a color scheme for visitors.

green tape - go! Reach right in and get the snake, there'll be no fighting or biting. All BPs have the green light.

yellow tape - caution, there might be the occasional squirming and resisting with the possibility of the occasional bite.

orange - extra caution, same as yellow with a greater likely hood of biting and it's a bigger snake that can put a hurting on you.

red - go ahead, I dare you, stick your hand in my cage!

visitors who are not snake keepers are allowed to handle greens only. Yellows may be handled by me for show. Orange and red don't come out of the cage for visitors.

I use Reptiscan for my record keeping and make my labels with the reptiscan qr codes on them in Photoshop. after that I take the files on a flash drive to Walmart and have them printed in the photo center and after laminating them I Velcro them onto my tubs. If you'd like I'd be more than willing to make custom labels for your snakes

I use Reptiscan too. I print out the labels using the software and laminate them. I use scotch tape to attach to the outside of the enclosure. When the animals are moved to a larger cage, it's easy to remove the tape and attach to the new enclosure.

Another vote for reptile scan, not just for labeling but tracking everything as well.

I also use a QR code system. It is fantastic, (reptile scan) my partner and I can both enter actions so I can see what we both did. I just punch a hole in the corner and use a bulldog clip to hold it.

Thanks everyone for the timely and informative responses. I'm probably going to get the ID clips and make my own labels in Photoshop as suggested!
