Water bottle and algae HELP (lol)

3 gallon jug I use to refill my water for the chickens has algae in it. Same goes for my 5 Gal for the dogs. How to get rid of it?

1.2 Normal
1.2 Red-tail
0.1 Albino corn

Toss and get new ones, they're not expensive. Also you may want to use smaller bottles so the turnover is higher, the algae will have less time to grow if the water is constantly being replenished. Don't store the bottles in the sun either, UV degrades plastic over time and sunlight encourages algae growth.

That algae wont hurt anyone. My parents haul all their water and the big water tanks get green algae in them too.
But bleach will kill it.

chlorox wipes work well to clean algae. but regular cleaning is key.
