Poll: What's your preferred type of rack?

Hey everyone,

I thought it would be really interesting and fun to find out what types of commercial racks you use for your collection.

If you make our own, do you prefer PVC or Melamine?

I have a melamine rack I just like it because it is strong, durable , looks nice and was cheap. how big is your rack?

I prefer PVC, light yet sturdy and fire retardant.

Melamine is HEAVY and will start cracking and sagging after several years.

This is my "starter" rack I got from Beegerboxes.com. It's the 16 qt, 6 tub model.

I'm debating where I want to get my next rack from. Was looking at pmherps.com, Apcages.com. I like their prices, but not sure how reliable those racks would be in a breeder setup. I really like the racks from pmherps, but I'm not thrilled about the fact they only come in white. I'd assume that bps would feel safer in a darker rack.

I'd have no issues getting another rack or two from Beegerboxes. Just weighing options.

I'd pass on building my own for now, as I'm not very handy... I could just see myself drilling through a finger. Lol.

ahhh those racks like really nice, and if your looking to build don't worry me and my dad built mine in 2 hours, also very cheap you can save a load of money

I prefer PVC due to the balance of durability, weight, ability to easily disinfect/clean and $ value.

I use the storage shelves from Home Depot. They're stackable, inexpensive, lightweight, and you can customize it to whatever size requirements fit your needs. I just added 3 shelves to my 3rd rack. That made room for the 3 new snakes I picked up plus the 3 new snakes I haven't found yet...

I use HDX too
