tank for first snake. result
Hello everyone
As some of you might have read my previous thread i am considering buying a snake. i am wanting your opinions on a tank or enclosure for the snake and although this may not be the result, I would like to buy just one for his entire life. Is there a certain size i can buy that would suit him well for his entire life or is it ideal to start small and expand as the snake grows? also, looking around my living room where the snake will be living if i could find a taller enclosure with a smaller width like some of these octagon tanks im seeing, would this be ok? if it isnt too much to ask you could post some pictures and specifications on enclosures for me it would be a big help! thanks guys

For a ball python you want more floor space than height as they spend most of the time on the ground in their hides. I've read that a 36x18x18 is the biggest you will need but I could be wrong. It's currently what I have my BP in. If you look up exo Terra large you should find what your looking for tank wise. That would be for a display enclosure which I would assume you would want

I have 2 snakes a corn and a BP. They are both housed in exo terra glass tanks with screen tops. they are great, the double front doors allow me to feed and clean really fast. yes, in the winter I need to modify for humidity, but nothing drastic. I just block 50 - 75% of the screen top and add moss, my BP has a reptifogger and lots of moss, As babies i just clutter the tanks with hides and silk plants, and as they grow i remove the ones they don't use.Just make sure you leave one on the hot and one for cool sides. hope this helps.

So in your opinion would the Large/Low terrarium be ok? or would the Large/Wide be better?
