Poo disaster and first shed

My snakes are going through their first shed with me and I'm excited. One is actually getting the skin off right now while the other is still in her hide. I've read that some snakes will hold their poop until after they shed, and that's what has happened. The only problem is it doesn't look healthy to me. It's a solid turd surrounded with mucous like substance. The paper towel is soaked. Then an inch or two away he urinated. Is this healthy?

Also as you can see the acurite probe has been peed on. How do I clean it without damaging the acurite, or should I buy a new one?
Also, I know I shouldn't bother him while he's shedding, but the poo was the worst I've seen so I went to clean. I put him in another tub that is exactly like his and right before I picked him up he plopped into his "gift" as if to spite me for bothering him. He got a little on his belly but hasn't shed that part yet. How should I clean him off when he's done? Damp paper towel?

Update: I got everything figure out but I still don't know if that poo is unhealthy

If it got on to a part he hasn't shed out of yet, it should just come off, no fuss, when he does. Reptile poo is a many and varied array of smelly delight, I could not begin to tell you if there was something wrong with that one or not, lol.

Thanks. I think the feces are fine just different. I have another question though. He's been working at his shed all morning and is still getting the shed on his head off. Does it typically take that long? My husbandry is all right

It can vary with snake to snake. Just let him be for the day, then come back in a bout 24 hours, he should be done, or at least pretty on the way there by then. If he has any problems like stuck shed, you can address it then.

Hi, you really should tweak your husbandry points. Especially tweak the humidity part. It may need to be adjusted. The consistency of reptile feces is directly correlated to what prey item or items have been consumed for the most part. Surely a recent change in the diet could also be a factor. Actually, as long as you don't see white, rice like pieces mixed in the feces or little critters swimming you can rest to some degree. There are some parasites that can only be seen by microscope. If you are really suspicious then zip lock it and double bag it and take it to the reptile vet. Don't worry. Stay in peace and not pieces. A.C. :gj:

That poo looks like nothing to get alarmed about.

You will see a lot worse in the years to come.

Is the amount of saturation on the paper towel normal?
Also my pastel has begun her shed as well and just dropped a load equivalent to that of a small dog :).

Yes, remember the snake also peed as evidenced by the urate.

The pastel has gotten 90% of her shed off since she started but it's in pieces. The pinstripe that I first started talking about still has almost all his shed on. I need to do the salt test with my hygrometers and soak him tomorrow.
